Order confirmation & samples

  • Provide specs and BOM (PCB, switches, keycaps, plate, case, firmware), quantity, target lead time and budget.
  • Submit/confirm samples, 3D/PCB files and sign off on prototype.

Production & assembly

  • Procure components, PCB assembly & firmware programming, switch mounting, soldering, keycap/plate installation, case assembly.
  • In-process QA: functional tests, electrical checks, visual inspection and lifecycle sampling.

Final inspection & delivery

  • Final cleaning, protective packaging and labeling per requirements.
  • Final QA pass, arrange shipping, provide documentation and after-sales support.

Brief process for prototypes (ceramic keyboard kits):

  1. Design & preparation: produce CAD drawings for prototype dimensions; allow larger tolerances to speed up machining.
  2. Rapid forming methods: prefer CNC machining of sintered ceramic blanks, ceramic 3D printing, or quick silicone molds with hand casting using burn-out molds; avoid expensive production tooling.
  3. Drying & binder burnout: follow standard controls, but for small batches you can use accelerated drying with strict monitoring to prevent cracks.
  4. Small-batch sintering: use short-cycle/small-kiln runs; control the temperature profile to avoid thermal stress.
  5. Post-processing & trimming: hand sanding, chamfering, and micro-polishing to ensure fit and feel; install metal inserts (e.g., threaded brass/aluminum inserts) or leave reserved holes for later installation where needed.
  6. Surface treatment & decoration: single glaze firing, spray coating, or ceramic decals are common; prototypes often use unglazed or single-step finishes to save time.
  7. Test fitting & functional validation: install switches, check fit with PCB/positioning posts, and perform stability/vibration checks; prioritize resolving fit issues before tooling changes.
